What is a stem cell?

Posted in Frequently Asked Questions |

A stem cell is a type of cell that can replicate and differentiate into different types of other cells in the body. This means that the cell can turn into different types of tissues to replace damaged cells in our body. One type of stem cell is the "adult stem cell". It is a type of stem cell that already resides in the body in different tissues. Adult mesenchymal stem cells are undifferentiated cells that have the ability to replace dying cells and regenerate damaged tissues. These special cells seek out areas of injury from diseases, where they are able to regenerate healthy cells and accelerating the process of natural healing.
